Product Documentation
Applies to: OS projects, supplied components and public prototypes
Updated
Start with the Arcturus reliability guides or the Rubian and Kestowv operating manuals. The Valux pages cover the broader operating-system research. Each guide identifies the environment it covers, from a supplied evaluation package to a public demonstration.
Arcturus Documentation#
Arcturus is reliability and management software built on Rubian and Kestowv, for individual machines, home clusters, fleets and data centers. Its planned predictive-maintenance analytics extend from individual machines to the power, cooling, networking and facility systems around them. The product is under active development; the current demonstrations let you explore selected investigation and maintenance workflows using sample data.
- Arcturus overview — product scope and the documentation available today.
- Predictive maintenance scope — machine-level and full data-center coverage.
- Data-center investigation and machine inspection — follow an observation through the current demonstrations.
Valux Documentation#
Valux is the broader operating-system research effort, bringing the programmable environment, systems foundation and interface work together for personal and enterprise computing. Arcturus supplies the reliability and management part of that direction; the integrated OS remains in development.
Read the Valux overview for its scope, relationship to Arcturus and the component capabilities you can evaluate today.
Rubian/Kestowv Documentation#
Rubian provides the programmable operating environment; Kestowv provides the systems foundation. Their manuals cover the commands and operating procedures available in supplied environments.
| Product | Documentation |
|---|---|
| Rubian | Explore the capability guide, startup and discovery, files, Forge libraries, Taskman, projects and agent workspaces. |
| Kestowv | Prepare a pilot, look up pilotctl commands, configure services and workloads, and plan recovery. |
Open the Rubian/Kestowv family manual.
Core is the user- and agent-facing application environment made programmable by AI. Selected interface work is intended to contribute to the broader Valux research. The Core prototype guides describe its current experimental browser experience.
Start with the work you need to do.
Choose a task, then use the release-specific commands and operating requirements in its manual. The problem guide connects the different parts of Rubian and Kestowv without reducing them to one use case.
Find, compose and reuse
Discover what is available, operate on returned values and turn a useful investigation into a repeatable program.
Keep work and people connected
Follow persistent workspaces, named projects, background tasks and the boundaries between participants.
Operate, investigate and recover
Read service policy and recovery procedures alongside the guides for machine observations and incident work.
Read the engineering behind the task
The studies, architectural records and benchmark methods explain the constraints behind the operating interfaces.
